Shira grew up outside Boston, Massachusetts and attended Wellesley College for her undergraduate degree. She worked as a veterinary assistant for a few years before attending veterinary school at Colorado State University. After graduating from veterinary school, she completed a rotating internship in Washington, DC. Shira then spent a few years practicing small animal medicine in Missoula, Montana before moving back to Colorado and joining the team at Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs.
Shira has special interests in wound care, exotic animal medicine, client education, and preventative care.
Shira and her husband David own two horses, Kru and Gator, and a very snuggly small dog named Sully. They love to spend time riding, hiking, fishing, skiing, and eating really good food.
